10 Books I Want To Read Because They Come Highly Recommended

Yay, it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday! As I’m sure you probably know, Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. She comes up with a bunch of fun prompts, and if you haven’t checked out her site yet, you totally should! This week’s topic was supposed to be books you have read because they were recommended, but I have way more books that I need to read because they were highly recommended. And by recommended, I mean I saw a blog post that caught my interest when otherwise they might not have been my thing. Sadly, there are a few here that I cannot remember where I saw them! I need to start keeping a list….

  1. Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young

I think multiple people have told me this was good, to be honest, but the one I could find was Sassyowlreads @ Fall Into Reading. I realized when Fable came out that I had never actually read anything by Adrienne Young, and I need to rectify that.

2. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

This was actually a recommendation by an in-person book friend of mine named Kayla. She wants me to read the entire series, but Good Lord, it is long! So right now I am just aiming for the first book sometime soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

This was just recently recommended to me by Ahaana @ Windows to Worlds, and her review on it is amazing! I was planning on checking out Bardugo’s trilogy first, but now Six of Crows is top on my list.

4. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

This was recommended by another in-person book friend of mine, Grace. Grace and I have been friends for quite a while, so she really knows my tastes, lol. This is the first of two recommendations by her on this list.

5. Take Me to the Deepest Blue by L.L. Kombe

Unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw this. Whoever you are, thank you! This is a book about mermaids, and it looks so cool!

6. Poisoned by Jennifer Donnelly

This I first saw recommended by Georgia @ Lost in Neverland, and I am so excited to read it! I am currently in the middle of a looong waitlist on my library’s ebook service, so who knows when that will actually be, lol.

7. None Shall Sleep by Ellie Marney

Again, I sadly cannot remember where I first saw this one recommended. But it must have been a good post, because historical mysteries are not typically my thing. However, I do really want to read this one, whenever I can get my hands on it.

8. The Falconer by Elizabeth May

This is the other book recommended by my friend Grace. She raved about it, so I am excited to try it out!

9. City of Ghosts by V.E. Schwab

This is another one (the last!) where I can’t remember exactly who recommended it to me. But Schwab is an author I have been meaning to read for a while, and….someone…recommended City of Ghosts to me, so I am excited to check it out.

10. The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix

Although Nix is also an author on my TBR list, I’m not sure this book would have appealed to me if I hadn’t seen Becky’s review @ Becky’s Book Blog. So this one is on my list as well.

Oh, so many books to read, so little time. I could have included a bunch more, I am sure, but these are all solid choices. Btw, the links to the blogs above are all the posts where I got the recommendation. So many great reviews!

What is next on your list that comes recommended? Are you reading a recommended book right now?

Happy reading and I hope you are having a great week!

    1. I’m dying to read both of them! Currently on a waitlist for Fable at my library. If it doesn’t come soon, I may have to breakdown and read Sky in the Deep first. ๐Ÿ˜€ Thanks for the recommendations!

  1. I love this post! Hope you get to read Six of Crows soon!
Honestly, I can’t tell you whether or not to read Bardugo’s trilogy, because I haven’t read it myself, but Six of Crows was wonderful, and you should definitely check it out when you have the time ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I’m a big fan of the Abhorsen series, and I’d not heard yet of The Left-Handed Booksellers of London. I swear, there are just too many books (and no, that’s not actually a problem, but it is hard to manage). Thanks for this list, I’ve found some new stuff for my TBR pile as well.

    1. I haven’t read anything by Garth Nix yet, but I’ve been meaning to for years. I am very excited to check out The Left-Handed Booksellers of London. There are way too many books, lol. My TBR list is difficult to manage. ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Definitely recommend Six of Crows and City of Bones! I liked SoC better than the Grisha trilogy, and I read SoC first, so it can be done easily enough ๐Ÿ™‚ the Shadowhunters series is huge, but the CoB trilogy and the Clockwork trilogy are amazing! Hope you enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Lists are such helpful things, I tend to forget everything as well, haha. I absolutely adore the Six of Crows duology, but I haven’t read any of the others here. Funny enough, I saw an ad for Poisoned earlier today and wanted to look more into that, so I’ll definitely be checking out the review you linked!
